Stingers Win Atom Championship

The Midland Honda Stingers are the 2022 Penetang Midland Minor Ball Hockey League U12-Atom Division Champions by virtue of their narrow 6-5 win over the Hornets on Saturday June 25 at the Penetanguishene arena.

Cole Traynor with three goals and Reid McIlravey with two goals and two assists pace the Stingers attack.  Lukas Bedard with a single goal along with Marcos Kiriopoulos and Beau Maurice with one assist each rounded out the Stingers scoring.  Brody Quesnelle with two goals and one assist, Landry Jones, Mason Stevens and Ryder Taylor with one goal each scored for the Hornets.  Hornet assists went to Cameron Gignac with three, Liam Moreau and Stevens with one each.

In the Consolation Final the Sabres squeezed out a 5-4 shoot-out win over the Marlins.  Daniel Lefley, Caleb Lesperance and Cashton Marion scored regulation time goals for the Sabres while Parker Sneddon and Ian Parent both scored shoot out markers. Drew Maheu and Sneddon added assists for the Sabres.  The teams were tied three all after regulation time before playing a scoreless overtime frame.  For the Marlins Dylan Larmand scored all three of the regulation time goals with assists going the Jakob Armvert and Charles Cameron.  Hayden Robertson scored the lone Marlins shoot-out goal.
