Tyke AA Provincial Champions

The Penetanguishene Blazers Tyke AA provincial championship run started with overall team defence and an unrelenting desire to chase the ball.  Lacey Larmand only gave up one goal in the Blazers goal over the championship weekend of July 4, 5 and 6 in Belleville and Trenton to lead the Tykes to a 5 win and no loss record on their way to GOLD!

The Tykes opened round robin play with a 2 - 0 win over the New Tecumseth Xtreme as Isaac Larmand scored both Penetanguishene goals.  They followed that game up with a 4 - 0 win over the Kitchener Rangers with goals from Trent Warren (2), Alex Sajan and Drew Robson.  In their final round robin game they edged the Oshawa Stampede 2 - 1 on goals from Brooke Browne and Nathan Seeman.

In the sem-finals the Blazers overwhelmed the Cambridge Canucks by a 4 - 0 score with constant pressure on the forecheck.  Ryley Piotrowski, Isaac Larmand with one goal each and Sajan with two markers led the Blazers attack.

Once again constant pressure in the Gold Medal game resulted in a 4 - 0 victory over the Oshawa Stampede.  Penetanguishene scored 4 second half goals, the first on a looping shot from the blue line by Schaap followed by two Sajan goals and finally one by Cameron Weishar.

The Blazers squad was composed of goaltender Lacey Larmand, defenders Kate Beausoleil, Masen Downs, Cameron Weishar, Nathan Schaap, Lukas Jeffery and Nathan Seeman and forwards Brooke Browne, Cole Warren, Curtis Warren, Trent Warren, Ryley Piotrowski, Drew Robson, Alex Sajan, Isaac Larmand and Charlie Wright. Coaches were:  Mike Larmand, Chris Larmand and Adam Schaap.
