Text Summary
What an end to a successful season!! Great game played by both teams, and with all the extra curricular stuff going on in the first 2 games, the assumption was made that this was going to be a barn burner. But both teams played a textbook playoff game. Both teams came out strong, with some physical play and lots of scoring chances. It seemed both teams wanted to draw first blood, and the Falco Steelers would do just that only 1:30 into the game. It seemed like the Jags were going to back up, but they did the exact opposite. With some stellar play from ken Harris, the Jags would tie the game 3 minutes later on a power play marker off a bad Steelers change. Then the goalies would take over.
Seemed Ken Harris and Andrew Smith had some Portuguese blood in them. They were laying bricks behind them, and no one could break through the walls behind them. However, the constant pressure from the Steelers would break the deadlock with only 6 minutes left in the game. After that goal was scored, the defense of the Steelers and Boogie would shut the door.
Usually the playoff MVP is the guy who scores the most goals, or the goalie who makes the most saves. But the MVP for this series was a defenseman who shows heart every time he plays. He battles you til the last second of every game, and makes you pay if you want to stand in front of the opposing net. The playoff MVP for the Winter Masters Playoffs is none other than Sam Trotto. Great job Sam, and congrats.
Congrats to both teams for a successful season. Good luck next season guys, and lets congratulate the Winter Masters Champs........
