Titans Defend Title

The Titans defended their crown as Penetang & District Ball Hockey League Champions with a 2 - 0 win over the Mighty Ducks Sunday July 27 at the Pentanguishene Memorial Community Centre.  Brandon Frandsen on the power with 4:41 remaining in the opening period scored on a deflection off a Ducks defender and Matt Paul tallied early in the second period assisted by Frandsen was all the scoring required by the Titans.  Brian Valentine turned away all the Ducks scoring chances in the Titans goal.  Dan Earles was outstanding in the Mighting Ducks net, turning away a barrage of shots allowing only two to slip past him.

The Titans roster was composed of:  Brian Valentine, Tyler McClure, Frankie Edgecombe, Mike Belanger, Matt Paul, Jacob Robitaille, Cameron Robitaille, Xavier Tous, Steven Millar, Jordan Dupuis, Travis Quesnelle, Brandon Frandsen and Jonathon O'Hara.

In the Consolation Final Thomas Brown scored the shoot out winner as the Roadrunners got past the Bombers by a 14 -13 score.  In what may have been the highest scoring game in league history goals came at a fast and furious pace.  Myles York scored five times for the Roadrunners while Benoit Chin netted four goals and Michael Paul and Ryan Payne scored two goals each.  Jessey Moreau paced the Bombers attack with seven markers, Hayden Cole added three goals, Chris Boucher connected for two and Ken Cascagnette scored a single.

In the morning semi-finals games the the Titans got past the Roadrunners by a 5 - 1 score while the Mighty Ducks grounded the Bombers with a 7 - 4 win. 

Titans scoring came off the sticks of Edgecombe and Cameron Robitaille with two goals each and Jacob Robitaille with one.  Chin scored the lone Roadrunners marker.  Ryan Gieseler scored three times, Brad Baum and Evan Cole twice each for the Ducks while Haydne Cole and Jessey Moreau with two goals each replied for the Bombers.
